Lamb’s Funeral Service is a family run business based in the village of Murton in County Durham, with Chapel of Rests in Murton and Seaham and covers all areas. We are always available 24/7 at the end of the phone to help support you.
We have been involved in providing funeral services to our community since the 1870’s when the brothers John and Thomas Lamb owned a carriage masters business, operating a horse drawn hearse and carriages on behalf of the local funeral directors.
We are very proud to be a family run business since the 1870’s, the carriage masters developed into a full funeral service and although the services expanded it was always important for us to maintain our local values, supporting bereaved families with care and compassion.
We provide our funeral services throughout the North East of England and can travel further afield if needed. We have travelled to London, Edinburgh, Oxford and many other destinations to help repatriate and return loved ones to their hometown of Murton or Seaham. Having started as a Carriage Masters we’ve maintained our specialist interest in carriages to this day, and now operate a fleet of Jaguar and Daimler funeral vehicles that are maintained to a high standard and are available for use for our own families and also hired out to other funeral directors across the North East of England.
